“Where possible, Always strive to leave things better than how you found them”
We generate value for our clients through specific actions that respond to identified issues. This is how we contribute to sustainable development from our essence.
We innovate and develop sustainable products and solutions for spaces that transform people’s lives.
We innovate and develop products and solutions
We use local and recycled raw materials in our processes. We recover 100% of the resulting non-conforming materials throughout the production process.
Every day we strive to offer the market products rich in design and graphic proposal, that is why we work with Italian firms that accompany our design and portfolio development processes.
In addition, we are constantly researching new technologies that we can incorporate into our products and this is how we manage to have products with features such as:
Requires low maintenance and cleaning and inert nature, no bacteria grow on this material. It is also not a source of polluting emissions.
Thanks to its easy cleaning and inert nature, no bacteria grow on this material. It is also not a source of polluting emissions.
Ceramic is a fireproof material, which reduces the risk of fire, making it a safe material.
Our ceramics do not lose their color intensity when exposed to sunlight. Together with its strength and durability, this property ensures that the product will remain unalterable over time. Its life cycle is, therefore, much longer than that of other materials.
High resistance to UV rays making them unalterable.
We offer 40x60 and hexagonal formats exclusive to Alfa.
Guarantee of a single production lot up to 6,000 m2."
We propose and promote strategies for the reduction and compensation of GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions along the entire value chain.
Our process uses mainly natural gas, one of the fuels with the lowest GHG emissions.
We are searching for alternative fuel and energy sources, such as hydrogen and solar energy.
Through energy management actions, we have achieved a 72 TJ reduction in energy consumption*, avoiding the emission of 3,763 tCO2 eq.
We also mitigated emissions of more than 4,000 tons of CO2 eq with the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates, contributing to the development of clean energy projects.
*Compared with 2021.
For Alfa, water is essential, so we strive to do the best possible management that allows water protection and conservation, while also ensuring the operational continuity of the organization.
Dry milling
Clay milling, as the main raw material for ceramic and quarry tile products, is done dry, this process reduce water consumption compared to the industry that uses wet milling. Dry milling adds a high level of complexity and attention to detail to achieve high-quality Standards of our products. Alfa was a world pioneer in this technology and we still consider it to be the most sustainable way to produce ceramic and quarry tiles.
• 100% of our clay milling processes are dry.
• Dry milling allows us to save at least 2.9 L of water and 0.5 m3 of gas per square meter of ceramic produced*.
*Compared to the water/energy consumption of a wet process according to efficiency data provided by the equipment manufacturer."
We have implemented innovative practices and worked closely with partners to transform our waste management. From product design to supply chain collaboration, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and maximizing resource efficiency.
• We use the ceramic sludge from the process in the manufacture of chamotte.
• 100% of all finished product that suffers from breakage or is classified as non-conforming material is returned to the production process.
• We compost all organic waste for use as fertilizer in the gardening and landscaping processes at our industrial complex in Soacha.
• We are eliminating the use of plastic in our packaging.
• Our cardboard packaging is composed of 100% recycled materials.
• We have recovered more than 36% of the pallets put into circulation and repaired more than 90% of the defective pallets, thus extending their life cycle.
• More than 85% of the waste generated in the manufacturing processes is recycled and used externally or internally.
